Dames at Sea

The Mississippi Bend Players will present the song-and-dance comedy Dames at Sea July 26-28 and Aug. 2-4.

Friday and Saturday performances are at 7:30 p.m. Sunday matinees begin at 2 p.m.

A long-running off-Broadway hit that brought stardom to Bernadette Peters, Dames at Sea both salutes and spoofs Hollywood musicals of the '30s. 

Sweet little Ruby from faraway Hometown, U.S.A., has come to make it big in big-time New York. Ruby steps off a bus and into her first Broadway show, but hours before the opening-night curtain, the cast learns the theatre is going to be be demolished. Can Ruby save the day, and her fledgling career, with the aid of a handsome songwriter and fellow Hometown native? 

Selected as “Best Musical of the Year” by Time, Newsweek, and the Outer Critics Circle. 

The musical is the third performance of the Mississippi Bend Players' 2019 summer series: "The Military Through the Years."

"The Military Through the Years" salutes all active, reserve, and retired military personnel. A military ticket discount is available to all military and their families. Choose the military discount when buying tickets online or mention it when calling the ticket office.

Tickets are $20 per person; or $15 for seniors, children and any student with ID; $10 for members of the military and their families.
